Jus for shits and giggles

So today I was just sketching... trying to rehab the hand here, an I thought I'd take a lil break from the detailed robo's that I'm drawing and go for pure cartoon. So I took the design that I put up here a lil while ago and recreated it. It's definitely not the best thing I've ever drawn or colored by any means, but it was fun and thats what mattered at the time. You'll be happy to know my hand is almost where I need it to be to kick out some nice stuff... however, in the meantime... drawing cartoons is good therapy. So check it, hope you like it... don't be too cruel in you critique :) Oh an here's some life drawings as well.. they're old, but I can't display them anywhere else on the net except for here. Peace

Not so Holiday themed concepts

Happy Holidays to all!! Just a few words today, my hand is pretty much 100% (thank God) so I was finally able to sit down an kick out some sketches. An after about an hour an a half or so I came up with what I think is the final design for Lucifer. Also I did a close up profile shot of Adam. They both turned out well... considering my hand gets tired pretty quick.. but I'm pleased. Anyway, hopefully today gets me back into a rhythm and I can start making some kick ass pics to put up :) Until then, stay up and Happy Holidays.

Back to where I should have always stayed

Remember the days of way back when? The days when all you worried about was who you were gonna play with the next day or where you were gonna ride your bike next? Something just kinda came over me today and reminded me of how simple those times were... during those times i used to just sit down and draw because I wanted to, because it was fun. Little things like saturday morning cartoons, and Spiderman comic books inspired me to try and create something of my own... I used to sit down and in-vision it in my head. My own lil world... heck, sometimes there weren't toys out of the characters I liked, so I drew them out myself, colored them and cut them out. HAHAH ghetto action figures, they were awesome. Point is, it was just more simple.. and it was fun because of it. As I've grown, it has turned into a business... and its lost its luster from time to time. However, today... today I realized that even tho its a business... i can take it back to where I should have always stayed.

So, to go along with that direction here is a one of my older drawings... from years ago. Still makes me smile today because it was genuine, an at the time it was one of the cooler things I had created as a design. Enjoy :)

L for Lucifer

So a few words about the Lucifer design today, only a few because really it is still evolving. So in this pic I'm really jus feelin out the design. My plan is to have him look all statuesque from the front and all mangled and segmented in the back. One of the stories behind the character tell of him injuring his back when he "fell from grace," so much so that he walked hunched over. While I will have him slightly hunched over I plan to make his back all fragmented and more Robotic in its look then the front of him which will look as he did when he was still one of the Angels. So for right now here is the sketch... the colored version will be up soon, but my hand is still healing so it will take some time. Until then, your going to have to settle for some older pics. Although, I don't believe to many will notice ;)

I know your probably like... "where are the horns and junk? How come no wings??" Well I'm trying to stay clear of all the classical depictions and stereotypical designs from the past and create my own version of them in a futuristic sense.

Just a few words today, but so far you've seen Adam and his progression and the same with Eve. So Now its time to see some of the rest of the cast. So.... introducing Lucifer. Tomorrow I'll show the body and explain a bit more about the design, until then.... Stay up and keep dem eyes to the sky.

Another set of pics as promised, some glimpses of the Eve concept. Now you can see what I'm saying with the older Adam concepts. That design just didn't mesh with me, now I'd say that the two actually look like they belong together.

A new day for some art

So today I figured I drop info about what's with all the robots. Those who have known me for a long time know that more of my artwork is more related to asian influenced/comic book like type art. Well, thanks to some timely advice (thanks Nick) I'm re-creating an old story involving adam and eve and combining it with some more modern influences. ROBOTS! I mean, all things considered there's not too much out there that's cooler then giant or regular sized, and maybe even sometimes small futuristic robots? Wow I sound like a nerd.... anyway, so the idea has been in the works for a lil while (delayed here an there... sad face) and revised over and over and now I'm finally plugging through the designs like a Canucks fan on a bandwagon! I'm doin a few more character concepts and then coloring the 'lot of them :) After that its on to environments and we're in business.

So here's a look at where the design began, and where its come today.






These were the first two sketches that I did, but I quickly had to change the design; huge, because a lot of people thought the first one looked like a girl. Which isn't really a good look for Adam ya know ;)




I was good with this concept for a while, until I did the Eve concept that is; hahah leave it to a girl to make a guy feel like he's under dressed. You can see one of the Eve sketches on yesterdays post, so when you compare the two you can see what I mean. So Adam's gone out and got some work done, an this is the look I've settled on.



Right now I'm workin on a few more sketches of him to cement the design which will be up soon. As this is Day 2 of my blog, I'm going to do a second post later today with some pics of Eve. Until then, gfg...... Peace!

Opening post!

Just a few words to welcome you to my new blog site. I'm just in the midst of my "artwork draft," deciding which pics are going to be posted. Everyday for the next week I will put up a new piece and give some updates on what I am currently working on and what pics are coming next.
